1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

Microcem is committed to making our website and our services accessible to as many users as reasonably practicable, including people with disability. We work to make microcem.com.au navigable, readable and usable across a range of devices, assistive technologies and accessibility preferences.

This statement explains the accessibility standards we work towards on our website, the features we have implemented, the limitations we are aware of, and how to request information in an alternative format.

2. Conformance Standard

We work towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the accessibility standard most commonly referenced in Australia for public-facing business websites.

We do not currently certify full conformance at every point on the site, and our conformance position is best described as "partially conformant" with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with active work ongoing.

3. Accessibility Features

On microcem.com.au we work toward the following:

  • semantic page structure (headings, lists and landmarks) to support screen readers
  • alternative text descriptions for images that convey meaningful information
  • sufficient colour contrast between text and background
  • support for keyboard navigation
  • consistent site navigation and predictable page layout
  • text that can be resized within the browser without breaking the layout
  • responsive design that works on desktop, tablet and mobile devices
  • clear and legible typography
  • contact and enquiry forms that are labelled and accessible

4. Known Limitations

Our website may not meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA in every respect. The known and ongoing limitations include the following:

  • some images in our project gallery may not have complete alternative text descriptions
  • legacy content such as older blog posts, downloadable documents and marketing materials may not meet current accessibility standards
  • third-party embedded content (including social media feeds, mapping widgets, payment gateways and analytics tools) may not meet current accessibility standards, and is outside our direct control
  • video content may not have captions or transcripts in every instance

We address these areas as part of our ongoing review of the website. If a specific page or piece of content prevents you from accessing the information you need, please contact us and we will provide that information in an accessible format.

5. Accessible Format Requests

If you have difficulty accessing any information on microcem.com.au, or would like to receive any of our content in an alternative format (including large print, plain text, a read-aloud summary, or via voice), please contact us using the details in section 8.

Where reasonably practicable we will provide the requested information in a format that suits your needs, at no charge. We aim to respond to accessible-format requests within five (5) business days.

6. Feedback

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any accessibility barrier on microcem.com.au, please tell us so we can investigate and address it. When sending feedback, it helps us to receive:
